چکیده
This describes a technique for the successful performance of percutaneous coronary intervention in patients whose right coronary artery arises from the left sinus of Valsalva and in whom the standard guiding catheters do not allow coaxial support.

A Novel Technique for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Anomalous Right Coronary Artery Arising from the Left Sinus of Valsalva.
BACKGROUND Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for anomalous right coronary artery (RCA) arising from the left sinus of Valsalva (LSOV) is a technical challenge due to inadequate guiding catheter support to overcome the acute rightward course of the anomalous RCA. In this study we describe a novel technique for PCI for an anomalous RCA arising from the LSOV. METHODS Six patient cases wit...
متن کاملClinical Implications of Congenital Absence of Circumflex Coronary Artery
Introduction: Coronary artery anomalies are rare clinical entities reported in 0.6% to 5.6% of diagnostic coronary angiographies. Anomalous origins of coronary arteries from distal segments are rarely reported. Presented herein is a coronary anomaly in which the circumflex artery (CX) originated as a continuation of the posterolateral branch of the right coronary artery (RCA) w...
متن کاملBicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva
Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...
متن کاملSuccessful Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in an Anomalous Origin of the Right Coronary Artery From the Ascending Aorta Above the Left Sinus of the Valsalva
The anomalous origin of the right coronary artery (RCA) is a rare condition. Most RCA anomalies are usually found incidentally, but these findings have clinical significance because many patients, particularly young ones, present with sudden death, myocardial ischemia and syncope without other symptoms. We describe a case of a 39-year-old male patient that presented with effort chest pain and w...
متن کاملAnomalous right coronary artery originating from the left sinus of Valsalva.
Coronary anomalies are relatively common but rarely associated with syncope, myocardial ischemia, and sudden cardiac death. An anomalous right coronery artery from the left sinus of valsalva is now recognized as an important causative factor in sudden death and myocardial infarction and syncope. This case report presents an anomalous right coronary artery (RCA) originating from the left sinus of...
